Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced VP of Product and Design to lead our product management and design teams. This role will be instrumental in driving innovation, enhancing user experience, and ensuring the successful delivery of products that meet the evolving needs of our educational clients.

This position reports to the Chief Product Officer.

Location

This position can be remote, but hybrid candidates in the Salt Lake City, UT, Idaho Falls, ID, or Lexington, KY areas are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead our Product Management and User Experience teams with a focus on coaching and mentoring.
• Drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, aligning with company goals and market opportunities.
• Partner with engineering to manage the product development lifecycle.
• Optimize product and design processes to maximize team productivity.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including content, sales, marketing, support, and customer success to define product requirements and ensure successful product delivery.
• Maintain a strong track record of delivering successful products on time and within budget.
• Develop and implement effective AI strategies and uses throughout the product and organization.
• Champion user-centered design principles and ensure an intuitive and engaging user experience across all products.
• Collaborate with our content team to conduct market research, competitive analysis, and user feedback analysis to identify opportunities and inform product decisions.
• Define and analyze key product metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
• Communicate product strategy, roadmap, and progress effectively to stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Product Management and Design leadership.
• 10+ years overall experience in Product Management and/or User Experience Design (direct experience in both preferred).
• Track record of improving or implementing new processes and driving effective outcomes and adoption.
• Strong project management skills.
• Experience leveraging AI tools, agents, and models to enhance personal and team efficiency as well as implementing effective AI use cases within products.
• Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in product management methodologies and design thinking principles.
• Experience in the EdTech industry or with K-12 or collegiate education systems is highly desirable.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex product strategies clearly.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
