Job Description
Food Handling:
- Receive meals daily and organize supply of snacks in adherence to food safety regulations.
- Complete daily documentation of meals served including but not limited to filing catering delivery invoices, delivery log, temperature of meals at delivery and hourly, and any discrepancies.
- Plan and execute food distribution in a timely manner to meet scheduled meal-times.
- Adhere to serving the appropriate meal item and controlled portions to each consumer by closely following menu portions to minimize waste.
Janitorial:
- Clean cafeteria and dining room including, but not limited to: floors, shelves, food carts, refrigerator unit, and any other equipment in kitchen area.
- Clean and sanitize of all dinnerware, pots/pans, and any other utensils or equipment used in meal service as necessary.
- Empty out garbage cans in the premises daily, including the dining room and kitchen.
- Keep storage rooms organized and clean.
- Ensure that adequate inventory of supplies needed to serve meals and to maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining area.
- Use chemicals according to OSHA and other regulating standards.
Other Duties:
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect towards persons of different cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Participate in all food handling and assigned training, staff meetings and conferences required by the funding source and staff meetings as required by COA and other funding/licensing sources.
- Provide assistance with 24 hour supervision of consumer when needed.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to bend, stretch, stoop, squat, kneel, push, pull, sit
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
Educational & Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- 1 year related experience and/ or training.
- Florida Food Handler Certification preferred or obtained within 30 days of hire.
- CPR Certification preferred or obtained within 30 days of hire.
