Job Description:

We are seeking a technically proficient Dimensional Engineering Manager with a strong foundation in quantitative analysis, applied statistics and mathematical modeling to lead dimensional control and validation activities across our vehicle programs. This role is critical in ensuring product conformity by leveraging statistical data analysis, measurement system evaluation and robust dimensional strategies.

This position blends hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities to develop and execute measurement strategies, tolerance analysis and process improvements that ensure product assemblies meet fit, form and functional requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement dimensional engineering strategies leveraging advanced tolerance stack-up analysis, statistical modeling and measurement planning to support vehicle launch and serial production.
  • Perform system and component level tolerance simulations using 3DCS, incorporating statistical methods.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions for dimensional issues impacting product fit, form and function using hypothesis testing for normality, regression analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor prototype/production variation and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) (including Gage R&R studies) to assess measurement reliability.
  • Utilize tools such as Minitab and Excel for statistical reporting, capability analysis (Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk) and trend detection.
  • Lead the definition of critical-to-quality (CTQ) characteristics and establish control limits and statistical acceptance criteria for dimensional attributes.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing and supplier quality teams to develop data-driven dimensional control plans and validate them with statistical evidence.
  • Develop and present dashboards and reports to summarise dimensional performance, using visual analytics tools to highlight risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, or a related technical field.
  • Proven expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles (ASME Y14.5 / ISO 1101).
  • Experience with CAD tools such as CATIA or Siemens NX.
  • Proficient in variation analysis using tools like 3DCS, VSA, Minitab, PolyWorks, or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical methods including SPC, MSA, correlation analysis and multivariate statistics.
  • Familiarity with metrology systems (e.g CMM, 3D scanning, laser trackers, photogrammetry).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and communicate complex data to cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in advanced statistical techniques such as Design of Experiments (DOE), Process capability analysis and Statistical tolerance analysis using Monte Carlo Simulation
  • Familiarity with automotive quality tools and processes, including APQP, PPAP and DFMEA and PFMEA
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate statistical insights into actionable plans.
