Position Summary

The Health and Safety Specialist plays a key role in achieving Goddard Systems, Inc. quality assurance goals of maintaining healthy, safe, nurturing schools while ensuring compliance to system standards. The Health and Safety Specialist conducts unannounced bi-annual Health & Safety quality assurance visits for Goddard Schools. During these visits they are assessing each individual school regarding health, safety, and other compliance areas. The Health and Safety Specialist is also responsible for supporting compliance-related training needs by connecting schools to appropriate resources and personnel. Throughout the year the Health and Safety Specialist will use technology to facilitate training to support health and safety compliance.

This position requires 85%+ travel. In this role, the individual is in the field, weekly, Monday -Thursday.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct bi-annual quality assurance visits to assess school compliance to health and safety standards
  • Communicate and document all work and assessments in an accurate and timely manner
  • Communicate with franchisees and directors the results of compliance findings
  • Review verification of compliance documents to verify compliance
  • Facilitate webinars throughout the year
  • Facilitate onsite remedial training to address areas of non-compliance
  • Facilitate training to new schools opening within their portfolio; this includes both virtual and onsite training and coaching
  • Perform other job duties as requested

Experience and Competencies

Minimum Requirements

  • At least one year of management experience in a licensed child care center
  • At least 3 years of experience working in an early child care center
  • Detail oriented, highly organized and demonstrated ability to successfully achieve project goals in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Use of technology: MS Office, Adobe Connect, Skype (preferred)
  • Initiative and ability to address problems creatively
  • Able to develop and maintain productive relationships at all levels of the organization and across schools
  • Exceptional communication, writing, and speaking skills

Highly Desired

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or related field
  • Teaching experience

There will be periodic requirements to travel for in-person events, at the discretion of your manager or the requirement of the company.
