Equity Account Management Specialist

Our Function

Process the daily accounting function for institutional and retail equity accounts as well as monthly cash and asset reconciliations. All work should be completed timely and accurately and reflect a solid understanding of Jennison Operations guidelines. The account load consists of Equity strategies with a range of 40-45 accounts depending on the account complexity.

Your Impact

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensure the accuracy of all portfolio accounting data
  • Identify and independently resolve discrepancies while reconciling daily cash balances and transactions against the custodian.
  • Reconcile daily positions and prices when applicable.
  • Manage day to day relationships with brokers and custodians
  • Understand trade settlement process for equity securities and necessary steps to facilitate settlement
  • Understand corporate actions, dividends, tax reclaims, income and expense accruals
  • Complete comprehensive month-end reconciliation packages including asset summary statements, positions and cash vehicles and currency balances
  • Liaise with Portfolio Managers, brokers, and custodians for all accounting issues.
  • Partner with our Investor Services Team, Securities Maintenance Group, Trade Support and Project Management Team to ensure best practices, optimal efficiency, and quality of work
  • Analyze requests from custodians, brokers, and internal teams to provide best in class support
  • Contribute to overall morale and the cohesiveness of our team
  • Desired skills that will be additive to the role:
  • Experience with TLM Smartstream and Eagle Star a plus

Your Required Skills

Your required skills must include:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Economics, Finance or Accounting
  • Entry-level role; 0-2 years of experience in finance, asset management, or working with equity products
  • Knowledgeable in equity and derivative securities and their relevant transaction postings on the asset manager's books
  • Working knowledge of different securities (domestic & international equity, shorts, swaps and options)
  • Proficient in MS Excel, with an ability to learn new systems
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills

The base salary range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000. Individual salaries for this role may vary based on various factors including but not limited to, years of experience, range in corporate level, candidate skills, and geographic location. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including but not limited to, individual and organizational performance.
