Job Summary:

This position manages and coordinates Engineering Changes (EC's) released by Research & Development (R&D) to the manufacturing plants for new and existing furniture products. It ensures that modifications are properly reviewed, documented, and implemented in manufacturing. This role collaborates with R&D, manufacturing, materials, time study, training, and quality teams to assess the impact of design changes and ensure smooth integration into production.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitors incoming EC's daily by Agile notifications and/or email distribution from R&D and determines what departments will be notified in the plant to implement.
  • Communicates changes across plant personnel such as Materials, Time Study, Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Quality Departments to ensure implementation of changes.
  • Leads weekly group meetings and one-on-one meetings with all affected departments and personnel to discuss incoming EC's and details of the changes that will be made.
  • Leads follow-up meetings to ensure implementation of engineering changes and then finalizes the process by signing off the Implement Workflow in Agile.
  • Distribution of all data to the local SharePoint drives to load documents (Upholstery Notes, Contents Lists, Critique Sheets, Work Instructions, etc.) for the plant personnel to access.
  • Communicates Deviations issued by Quality to affected plant personnel and ensures that deviations are implemented until a permanent EC solution is released if deviation is approved.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve the engineering change management within the plant for smoother, accurate implementation.
  • Research reported plant issues to identify the source of the error.
  • Attend weekly calls with R&D Bill of Materials Department to review upcoming EC's and discuss any existing EC's that need further informational details to ensure accurate, on time implementation.

SCOPE & IMPACT:

This position plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless integration of engineering changes and new style introductions into the manufacturing process. By managing and coordinating the flow of engineering changes from R&D to production, this position helps to minimize disruptions to manufacturing and supply chain operations. This role directly influences the speed, efficiency, and accuracy of implementing these changes, which in turn affects production timelines, material costs, and overall product quality. By driving smooth change implementation, this role enhances operational effectiveness, reduces the risk of errors, and supports the company's goals of maintaining high-quality standards and timely delivery.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate's degree in engineering, business management, or a related field with 2-4 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Experience with engineering change management in a manufacturing or furniture industry setting.
  • Proficiency in Agile and E1.
  • Understanding of materials inventory management, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Up to 25% Travel.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong proficiency in Agile and E1 Systems.
  • Understanding of furniture production techniques.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No direct reports.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Office environment / no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands. Often required to sit, repetitive hand motion (such as typing), hear, listen, talk, stand, and walk. Seldom required to bend, stoop, climb stairs, climb ladders, kneel, squat, and reach overhead, push, pull or Lift - up to 50 pounds. Not required to Crouch, crawl, or shovel.
