Job Description
We're looking for an Art Director (AD) who can move ideas across channels, cultures, and categories with insight, originality, and precision.
As an AD at HD, you'll play a vital role in shaping brand stories and bringing bold, integrated campaigns to life. You'll partner with writers, strategists, and fellow designers to develop exceptional work that's grounded in strategy and elevated by great taste and execution. You're curious, versatile, and passionate about crafting visually powerful ideas that work in today's world.
What You'll Do
- Ideate original campaign concepts that are grounded in strategic thinking and push creative boundaries
- Develop visual storytelling that flexes across digital, social, print, environmental, motion, and emerging platforms
- Design across a wide range of media, including identity systems, brand platforms, packaging, presentations, social content, and more
- Collaborate with teams to translate creative ideas into integrated executions that are consistent, compelling, and visually striking
- Contribute to the development and evolution of brand aesthetics, ensuring consistency and distinction across touchpoints
- Apply expertise in typography, color, composition, and design trends to every deliverable
- Support the production process across digital and print, ensuring flawless final output
- Constantly explore new technologies, formats, and creative approaches that keep HD on the leading edge
- Bring a culturally aware, socially tuned-in perspective that strengthens every creative decision
What You Bring
- 6+ years of experience in a creative/design role, preferably at an agency or brand with a strong design culture
- A standout portfolio showcasing big ideas, strong design chops, and multi-channel versatility
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with Figma, After Effects, or similar tools
- Experience concepting and executing digital experiences that are as functional as they are visually compelling
- Comfortable leading the website design thinking process from discovery through delivery
- Understanding of UX/UI principles, responsive design, and accessibility standards
- Fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- Familiarity with Squarespace, Webflow, or Shopify is a plus
- Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to take direction and contribute proactively
- A desire to grow within a fast-moving, high-expectation environment
