Description of the role:
As an Occupational Therapist at University Home Care, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients in Macomb area, MI with physical, emotional, and developmental challenges. You will provide therapy interventions to improve their functional abilities and independence in daily activities. This role requires creativity, compassion, and effective communication skills to establish rapport with patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' abilities and needs.
- Develop personalized treatment plans and goals.
- Implement therapeutic activities and exercises to enhance patients' skills.
- Monitor and track progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and caregivers to ensure coordinated care.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding therapy techniques and home management strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, progress, and discharge summaries.
Requirements:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Michigan.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Proven experience in assessing and treating patients with diverse conditions and ages.
- Excellent knowledge of diagnostic tools and treatment methods.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
