GEO Prep Academy of Baton Rouge is a tuition-free, public charter school that serves students in grades K-6. ABOUT THE POSITION:
To provide opportunities for a specific student growth, focusing on an assigned student who are deficient in learning skills, have some behavior issues and lack a positive self-esteem.
REPORTS TO/TERM:
School Leadership and Director of SPED
This is a 10-month / Full Time position.
Essential Key Functions:
- Instruct identified ESS student(s)
- Maintain accurate and complete records of the progress log, attendance log, exit form, and student data form for the assigned student(s).
- Attend ESS staff meetings and IEP meetings for the assigned student(s).
- Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the ESS teacher, Sped Coordinator, and/or Principal
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Provide intervention for all subject areas to the assigned student(s).
- Accompany the assigned student(s) to all scheduled classes.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred); Associate's degree required
- Some SPED experience or experience dealing with behavioral kids
- Ability to use technology to support instruction; access and manipulate data; communicate and collaborate with ESS teachers and assigned student parents.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents, skill in oral and written communication.
- Organizational Skills
- The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being of the assigned student(s).
