About the Team:
The Engine Manufacturing team is dedicated to delivering high-performance engines and advancing innovative manufacturing systems that continuously improve cost, quality, and lead time. You're not just executing on designs; you actively provide input that shapes new hardware iterations and regularly interface with engineers to make critical decisions for the Aeon R program. Having successfully developed and refined processes for our initial development engines, the team is now focused on producing flight engines at rate for Terran R's aggressive launch manifest.
About the Role:
As a Propulsion Technician in the Valves department, you will play a critical role in building and testing components and sub-assemblies for the Aeon-R engine. This is a unique opportunity to join an experienced technical team and develop the expertise needed to establish and refine robust component manufacturing processes. Your responsibilities will center on supporting various in-house operations, including component assembly, testing, and integration.
Please note, this is a 1st shift position with hours from 6:00am-2:30pm PT.
About You:
- Experience working on engines, with a primary focus on engine components.
- Familiarity with the architecture of a Gas Generator cycle engine and all associated nomenclature.
- Experience with high pressure pneumatic testing such as proof, leak checks, and functional testing.
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical system integration.
- Experience with calibrated tools such as torque wrenches and measurement devices.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions and engineering drawings.
- Strong technical and interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Acute attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
Nice to haves but not required:
- Familiarity with 5S manufacturing principles.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience transitioning from development into high-volume production
