QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent/Vocational School/Trade School.
  • Completion of State approved apprenticeship program.
  • Have a State D License or S License.
  • Skills equated with three to five years experience in the field.
  • JOB SUMMARY

  • Maintains total HVAC operation in close conjunction with HVAC Lead Mechanic to insure safe, reliable, well run and maintained distribution of heat and treated air all year round.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Standing/walking continuously - up to 8 hours.
  • Lift 21-50 pounds frequently.
  • Pull/push 21-50 pounds frequently.
  • See, hear, touch, smell frequently.
  • Bend, reach, squat, climb, twist and crawl frequently.
  • Reach above shoulders frequently.
  • Fine hand manipulation (both).
  • COGNITIVE DEMANDS

  • Provide uninterrupted operation of HVAC. Keep updated records.
  • Train others on basic requirements of operation.
  • Perform HVAC duties. Locate, detect and repair all malfunctions.
  • Test and monitor equipment to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Inspect system for leaks and malfunctions and make minor electronic repairs and adjustments.
  • Performs any other related tasks, activities and responsibilities as assigned or requested for the purpose of completing department projects and maintenance duties within established timeframes and in a safe efficient manner.
  • Keeps proper inventory to eliminate down time.
  • Keeps required logs and records on maintenance and repairs.
