The College of Health Professions at Mercer University invites applications for a full-time faculty member to serve as the Coordinator of Academic Fieldwork for the Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program. This is a 12-month, tenure track position.
The College of Health Professions at Mercer University invites applications for a creative and motivated leader to serve as the Coordinator of Academic Fieldwork of the Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) Program. The College of Health Professions fosters academic and professional excellence in leadership and service through a variety of health science programs: Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Public Health, Clinical Psychology, Athletic Training, and Kinesiology.
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Dean of the College of Health Professions and Program Director, the Coordinator of Academic Fieldwork is responsible for the OTD program’s compliance with the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education’s (ACOTE) fieldwork requirements in Standard C.1.0. The role of the Coordinator of Academic Fieldwork is to create, implement, and oversee all the program’s fieldwork endeavors. Additional responsibilities will include graduate student classroom and laboratory instruction and evaluation; advisement and mentoring of students; committee involvement; admissions activities; professional organization engagement; and scholarly activities to include grants, publications, and presentations.
Qualifications:
Doctoral degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a U.S. Department of Education-recognized institutional accrediting agency
Active, unrestricted license to practice as an occupational therapist in Georgia or immediate eligibility for licensure
Two years of documented experience in the field of occupational therapy, which must include:
Clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist
Professional experience as a fieldwork educator or documentation of training in the roles and responsibilities of a fieldwork educator
Significant comprehension of ACOTE Section C.1.0 Standards
Active involvement in the occupational therapy profession
Understanding of key issues in occupational therapy education
Prior teaching experience and a record of peer-reviewed scholarly activity preferred.

This position will be a 12-month appointment on Mercer University’s Cecil. B. Day campus in Atlanta, Georgia. The campus is conveniently located near all the amenities of the city and is situated on over 250 wooded acres.
