Job Overview
This position is responsible for the repair, service, and maintenance of rough terrain, crawler, and mobile cranes, as well as a variety of forklifts. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in mechanical systems, including electrical, drivetrain, engines, hydraulics, and computer-controlled systems, and demonstrate a high level of expertise in equipment diagnostics and repairs.
Responsibilities
- Repairing and maintaining rough terrain, crawler, and mobile crane equipment, as well as various types of forklifts, with a primary focus on the service and repair of said equipment
- Must have a strong background in electrical, drive train, engines, hydraulics, and computer-controlled systems
- Has at least 3 - 5 years of experience in the mechanical diagnosing, repairing, and maintenance of mobile crane equipment
- Will be able to work evenings and weekends for crane repairs in the shop
- Must be capable of communicating effectively and professionally with supervisors and other personnel
- Able to read schematics (both hydraulic and electrical)
- Must be able to perform competent inspections of all cranes
- Able to lift, up to 40 lbs
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience repairing and maintaining rough terrain, crawler, and mobile crane construction equipment; vocational training may be considered in lieu of experience
- Perform annual certifications and inspections
- Ability to perform tasks independently without direct supervision
- Computer literate with the ability to process information
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to quality
- Knowledgeable in troubleshooting various equipment lines, including Manitowoc, Grove, Terex, Tadano, Broderson, Kobelco, and Liebherr cranes
- A history of safe work habits
- Hard worker with a great attitude
- Must supply own hand tools and keep up-to-date tool inventory of service truck
- Have a current valid driver's license along with a clean driving record
- Ability to drive a company service truck. Must keep the truck clean and maintained
- A high school diploma is required, and higher education, including vocational training, is a plus
