Job Description
American Construction Metals (ACM), a strategic business unit of ABC Supply, produces a wide array of metal building materials, including trim coil, edge metal, gutter systems, and a variety of other metal accessories. ACM is seeking an experienced QA Inspector. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that products or services meet established quality standards and specifications by performing inspections, tests, and evaluations to identify defects or deviations from standards. Additionally, you will work alongside production teams to address and resolve issues.
Specific duties may include:
- Visually inspecting products, measuring dimensions, and conducting tests to identify defects or deviations from specifications
- Using measurement instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers to measure products and materials
- Documenting and recording inspection results, summarizing findings, and submitting reports.
- Detecting defects and deviations from quality standards and reporting them to the appropriate personnel
- Working with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Adhering to quality control policies, procedures, and industry standards and regulations related to quality control
- Ensuring the proper calibration and maintenance of inspection and testing equipment
- Conducting routine and random audits of products, processes, and documentation to verify compliance with internal quality standards and external regulations
- Participating in internal and external quality audits
- Other duties and/or miscellaneous projects as assigned
Specific qualifications include:
- Knowledge of quality standards and regulations
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
- Superior attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication skills
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment
Physical demand:
- Associate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift for a full 8-hour day.
Work environment:
- 100% manufacturing setting
- Associate must comply with assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirement in varies areas, including but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety shoes.
- Associate will have exposure to typical working conditions within the manufacturing environment, including but not limited to seasonal temperature changes, occasional exposure to exhaust fumes, dirt, dust, debris, and grease, moving forklift equipment, and pinch points on machinery.
