Director of Information Technology

Key Responsibilities:

• Develops and implements IT strategies aligned with the organization's overall objectives. 
• Establishes protocols, procedures and processes to support day-to-day operations of IT systems, including network security, data protection, and system upgrades. 
• Manages and evaluates IT infrastructure and makes recommendations to support business needs.
• Develops and evaluates IT staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. 
• Closely manages IT expenses, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient resource allocation. 
• Implements and maintains robust security measures to protect the organization's data and systems from cyber threats. 
• Negotiates and manages contracts with technology vendors, ensuring optimal service delivery and cost efficiency. 
• Collaborates with business units and department leaders to identify and address technology needs, ensuring IT supports their business objectives. 
• Tracks and analyzes key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of IT operations and identify areas for improvement. 
• Ensures the organization adheres to relevant industry regulations and standards related to IT. 
• Updates and maintains a plan for disaster recovery and business continuity to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of emergency.
• Identifies and evaluates new technologies that can improve business processes and enhance the organization's competitive edge, including robust evaluation of AI and related tools.
• Serves as member of senior management team.
• Routinely communicates throughout the organization on IT initiatives and activities.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

• 10 or more years’ experience in IT with 5 or more years in a hands-on management/leadership role with similar responsibilities.
• Experience must be in a manufacturing organization.
• Strong technical expertise: in areas such as networking, cybersecurity, systems administration, and software development.  
• Working knowledge of:  C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server and GIT required.  Experience with Azure Dev Ops is a plus.  Experience with Cloud applications such as Azure, AWS and Google Cloud also a plus.
• Specific technical expertise in Epicor or comparable ERP system is strongly preferred.  
• Experience with AI tools applicable to manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with Machine Metrics is a plus. 
• Excellent leadership and management skills to effectively lead, develop and engage the IT team. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop and implement effective IT strategies. 
• Project management skills to oversee the timely and effective implementation of new technologies and initiatives. 
• Must demonstrate flexibility and creativity, able to problem-solve and adapt to changing business needs/situations.
• Cost management skills to effectively manage IT expenses.
