Job Description Summary:
Aviagen is looking currently for an experienced person to fill in the job of Complex Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible for all the activities related to Poultry operations for the assigned complex. This includes oversight of bird environment, record keeping, ESH compliance, management of personnel, and overall compliance to Aviagen standards.

Produces the highest quality cage free pullets at the lowest possible cost consistent with good manufacturing practices Provides a safe work environment for all personnelRecognizes and takes steps to resolve operating problems in order to minimize their impact on the operations Requests and directs services of maintenance, contract crews, and other personnel as may be necessary to achieve the desired level and quality of production, safety and other services Cooperates with all departments to assure a coordinated work relationship exists at all times Responsible for feed usage and all other department costs Keeps accurate and up-to-date records (i.e. timecards, downtime records, UEP/AWB records, etc.) Enforces company policies in a fair and consistent manner Encourages suggestions from employees which will improve production, quality, safety and/or control costs of production Assigns work tasks to department personnel Keeps Operations Manager informed on operating, quality, safety and/or employee problems Maintains consistent communications and coordinating all activities with Operations Manager Monitors health of birds and takes corrective action when needed as directed by and or in conjunction with the company veterinarian Responsible for all of the location's activities Job Qualifications: Computer experience preferred Able to train and motivate department personnel Coordinate and supervise department functions (i.e. department meetings, local farm ops meetings, safety trainings, etc.) Able to supervise department personnel in a fair and consistent manner Must be able to work overtime or weekends when required Be able to recognize problem situations and take appropriate steps to resolve Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and teaming skills
