Description:
SUMMARY:
This position coordinates the functional areas of the environment of care, including developing, implementing, and evaluating safety programs which promote safe and healthy working conditions. The incumbent is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing emergency management activities. The incumbent will ensure program-related policies and documents reflect internal and external requirements including compliance with accrediting agencies, and local, state, and federal regulations.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in healthcare, public health, safety, or related field is required.
Five (5) years of healthcare-related experience in environment of care, safety, emergency management, or related field is required. Years of training or education may be substituted for experience.
Experience in healthcare and multi-agency operations is preferred.
Experience serving in a leadership role in emergency management/response is preferred.
Experience coordinating with internal and external partners to execute program priorities is preferred.
Knowledge of federal OSHA regulations, Joint Commission standards, and other applicable regulatory information is preferred.
Current Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) credential or related credential is preferred.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Coordinate the development and monitoring for the functional areas of the Environment of Care (EOC) to comply with The Joint Commission, OSHA, and other applicable regulatory agencies. Provide direct oversight for the Safety functional area of the EOC.
Recommend policy changes, corrective actions, and program improvements to EOC program leaders.
Coordinate with leaders and colleagues in developing and implementing safety programs.
Coordinate the emergency management program, including facilitating training and exercise activities. Maintain documentation associated with program.
Maintain knowledge of emergency management regulations and best practices. Coordinate program regulatory compliance.
Serve in a leadership capacity and provides technical support for real event responses.
Establishes and maintain relationships with partner agencies, including other healthcare agencies and state, local, and federal agencies.
Coordinate with regulatory agencies during reviews / site visits.
