Charge Entry Specialist

Under the direction of the AMG Coding Manager, the Charge Entry Specialist duties include review and acceptance of electronic and manual charges generated by Augusta Medical Group encounters.  In doing so, the Charge Entry Specialist will review provider documentation to extract data to accurately review and make corrections where needed to CPT and/or ICD-10_CDM codes.

 

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification through AAPC desired but not required (can be obtained on the job)
• 1 year of physician office experience or related functions required
• Knowledge of Microsoft office products required
• Knowledge of hospital and/or practice management EHR systems required
• Knowledge of national correct coding initiatives preferred
