Job Description
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
-
In this position, you will:
- Assist the Landscaping team in all aspects of landscaping operations, including but not limited to, mowing, trimming, blowing, seeding, fertilizing, pruning, planting, snow/ice removal and other general property maintenance.
- Perform general repair and basic maintenance on equipment and vehicles used for landscaping operations as scheduled or as needed.
- Perform and complete other work and duties that are assigned by the Landscaping Manager and/or Director of Campus Operations. This may include working additional hours, alternate work schedule or basic facilities assistance outside of landscaping.
- Work with and support outside companies and contractors for major work and service contract projects not to be handled internally. Maintain professional relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure their timely service and support.
- Provide input to the Landscaping Manager in the development and execution of a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all campus landscaping operations. Make recommendations and suggestions to the Landscaping Manager to improve the safe, efficient, and effective operations of Cary Academy.
- Follow all federal, state, and OHSA regulations as well as Cary Academy policy pertaining to the operations of landscaping equipment, hand tools, and chemicals at all times.

Work collaboratively with the Information Services team to research, implement and evaluate technology resources related to position responsibilities.
- Perform other projects and duties as assigned in support of both divisional and school operations and initiatives.
ESSENTIAL EXPECTATIONS
In this position, you will:
- Be able to lift and move 80-pound bags of materials and/or equipment on a regular basis.
- Operate landscaping equipment and/or vehicles for extended periods of time in a safe manner.
- Perform manual labor daily out of doors under a variety of weather conditions, including climbing, bending, and kneeling for prolonged periods of time.
- Possess and maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
In this position, you will have:
- A general knowledge of landscaping operations, athletics field maintenance and usage of landscaping equipment.
