We're seeking a proactive and client-focused Merchant Services Specialist to help businesses across Midcoast Maine streamline their financial operations. This role blends client relationship management with technical knowledge to deliver modern cash management solutions.
As a Merchant Services Specialist, you'll be responsible for the sales, support, and enhancement of our cash management products and services. You'll collaborate with commercial clients, internal teams, and product vendors to deliver secure, efficient, and user-friendly financial tools.
Key Responsibilities of the Merchant Services Specialist:
- Partner with commercial lenders and business clients to assess cash management/ banking needs.
- Develop customized solutions using the bank's suite of products (ACH, remote deposit, merchant services, etc.).
- Lead product demos and respond to RFPs with tailored proposals.
- Provide onboarding, training, and ongoing support for commercial banking clients.
- Monitor account activity to minimize risk, fraud, and compliance issues.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to enhance offerings and reach.
- Maintain accurate documentation and financial compliance records.
Requirements
Skills & Knowledge:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to understand business and banking operations and recommend appropriate financial tools.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of banking systems, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- A collaborative mindset with a passion for providing outstanding customer service in the financial space.
Experience:
- 5+ years in cash management, treasury, or related financial services role.
- Sales and customer relationship experience required.
- Familiarity with banking software systems and security protocols.
Education & Certifications (Preferred but not required):
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, IT, or related field.
- Microsoft MCSM or MCSE (2008/2013)
- CompTIA Security+, CISM, CISSP, or PMP certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel regionally between client sites and branches.
- Occasional lifting/moving of equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity and vision requirements as needed for equipment setup and troubleshooting.
