Position Summary
Under the leadership of the department director, assistant director, and/or charge nurse, the Monitor Tech/Unit Receptionist is responsible for cardiac monitoring of all patients on monitor, including rhythm, rate, and alarms, and for performing departmental clerical and receptionist duties. The Monitor Technician/Unit Receptionist recognizes the importance of meeting customer expectations and demonstrates a positive attitude and efficient use of resources. S/he will perform related duties as necessary.
Experience
- Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong computer skills and ability to multitask.
- Cardiac monitoring skills preferred.
Education
High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent work experience in related field preferred.
Must pass orientation and initial competency assessment prior to independent assignment, and must complete and pass all annual competencies.
Licensure/Certifications
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS (required).
