Job Profile Summary
Performs CT/MRI procedures under the direction of a Radiologist while maintaining patient safety and comfort. Responsible for running CT scans and fulfilling physicians' scan requests
Responsible for educating and preparing patients for their examinations
Take patient medical history before an exam
Assume responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients
Send images to Radiologist for interpretation/reading
Cleans and disinfects patient rooms
Education and Experience
Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology
Completion of CT technology certificate program preferred
Maryland licensure and/or ARRT certification
Outpatient Imaging Job Description:
Independently performs CT examinations on all patient populations within Adventist Healthcare system including the administration of oral and IV contrast materials when appropriate. Works collaboratively with other members of the care team to expedite patient's examinations while maintaining excellent patient relations and demonstrating our RISES values.
Job Responsibilities :
Performs CT examinations in accordance with the protocols established by the radiologists. Demonstrates proficiency in operating CT-scanner and all ancillary equipment within CT department. Assists radiologist and other staff in interventional procedures.
Understands principles and dangers involved in the administration of oral and intravenous contrast. Identifies contraindications to IV contrast administration and recognizes symptoms of IV contrast reactions.
Properly identifies patients, reviews orders and selects scanning protocols in order to maximize quality and safe patient care in CT.
Accurately performs documentation in all computer systems within CT and Imaging Services pertinent to CT scanning (MergeRIS, PACS, 3DR, Image Reformatting)
Maximizes patient throughput and demonstrates teamwork with coworkers by managing large patient volume including the transport of patients to and/or from CT as necessary.
Provides general patient care as necessary within the CT department.
Assists in orienting and training of new employees and students
Participates in performance improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High school or GED
Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography
1 year CT experience preferred
State of Maryland Radiation Technologist license, ARRT (CT), CPR
Work Schedule:
Weekend; rotating shifts:
7am-3pm
3pm-11pm
11pm -7am

Pay Range:
$34.58 - $51.87
If the salary range is not displayed or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
