About Saint Joseph's UniversityA dynamic and academically rigorous institution, Saint Joseph’s University, Lancaster is a private, accredited, college focusing exclusively on the field of health care. In addition to associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs, Saint Joseph’s, Lancaster offers several certificate programs as well as professional development courses for those working in health care. Located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the College attracts a select group of approximately 1,800 students to study with faculty who are experts in their specialty areas.
About the Undergraduate Nursing Programs
Nursing curriculum lays the groundwork for the College’s academic programs. Both pre-licensure undergraduate Nursing Programs, Nursing Associate (ASN) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), recognize the level of care and compassion it takes to be a nurse. This is reflected in the programs' low student to faculty ratio within the clinical setting. The ASN and BSN programs offer hands-on learning at the College's main clinical affiliate, Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, as well as neighboring facilities. Students are exposed to a variety of clinical settings, including medical-surgical, critical care, pediatrics, obstetrics, mental health, community health, physician offices, home health and others, allowing students to learn the area in which they want to specialize. Student learning is also facilitated in the College's state-of-the-art simulation labs. Experience in the simulation labs allows students the opportunity to witness firsthand a variety of scenarios that they may or may not see in an actual clinical setting.
Accreditation
The ASN Program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and the BSN Programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Clinical Practitioner Educator Role
Educators provide clinical instruction to students enrolled in the undergraduate nursing programs. Positions are available for the fall (August - December), spring (January - May), and summer (May-June) semesters. Day, evening and weekend clinical course sections are available to meet a variety of working professionals' needs.

- Current RN license in the Commonwealth of PA
- Minimum of two years recent clinical nursing experience in area of selected specialty
- Didactic (classroom) teaching experience preferred
