Job Description
- Prepare patients for exams by explaining the procedure and administering radioactive materials.
- Maintains all LaDEQ requirements for Radiation Safety.
- Measure radioactive doses before administering to patient using the dose calibrator.
- Maintains log book for Cardianl Deliveries of Isotopes.
- Acquire the patient study making sure parameters are correct on gamma camera and computer. (For thyroid uptakes, the uptake probe).
- Participates in Quarterly Radiation Safety Committee meetings.
- Process patient's study.
- Develop films. Sends images to PAC's system.
- Daily radiation surveys of the department.
- Record weekly wipe tests, maintain records for receiving and disposing of radioactive materials.
- Daily QA and floods of camera.
- Daily QA of uptake probe.
- Daily QA of dose calibrator and record.
- Weekly QA bars of camera.
- Weekly record QA of uptake probe.
- Monthly uniformity calibration of camera.
- Monthly CDR check of camera.
- Schedule outpatients.
- Order radiopharmaceuticals.
