C.H. Robinson is seeking a Senior Customs Entry Writer for our office in Atlanta. In this role, you'll be recognized as role model for account management excellence for our customs product offerings. You will serve as an internal subject matter expert, assisting in training where needed to upskill and mentor others on the team. The Senior Customs Entry Writers own an account base and are responsible for developing relationships, attending customer meetings, and seizing opportunities to demonstrate their professionalism--thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements and supply chains, and ability to create meaningful reports to provide actionable data. In this role, you will engage with peers on-site 4-5 days a week, igniting creativity and driving impactful results. Upon successful completion of your training, you will then switch to 2-3 days a week in the office, working the rest of the time from home. This role strikes the perfect balance between teamwork and autonomy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to team members on customs brokerage products, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and industry best practices.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by processing entries swiftly and accurately, communicating clearly and professionally, and collaborating across departments to resolve inquiries efficiently.
- Analyze and validate import documentation and data to ensure they are in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations prior to entry submission to U.S Customs and Partner Government Agencies
- Identify and recommend technology solutions to drive operational efficiencies and enhance net revenue performance.
- Act as the primary customs liaison for the customer account base, ensuring timely responses to inquiries and proactive resolution of issues to achieve high customer satisfaction.
- Lead by example when it comes to customer outreach, retention, and expansion
- Promote a positive working relationship for all team members
- Maintain direct ownership of Customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) databases, ensuring full compliance with CBP regulations and customer-specific requirements.
- Oversee customer invoicing, manage vendor payables, and support receivables for assigned accounts to ensure accurate and timely financial processing.
- Uphold a high standard of operational excellence by meeting timeliness expectations and consistently achieving audit-related KPIs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of customs entry-writing experience
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
- It's important to note that per the Customs Regulations, specifically 19 CFR 111.53(e), a Customs Broker is required to receive written approval from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) if it knowingly employs any person who has been convicted of a felony. For this reason and unless prohibited by state or local law, we will perform our initial background check and an annual check for any person employed in a Global Forwarding Customs Brokerage Department
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule and the supply chain
- Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Highly motivated, self-driven, and true ownership of client base
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills, prioritizing multiple tasks, proven through demonstrated track record
- Exemplary communication and customer service skills
- Effectively communicate across functional lines, and at times lead and direct the conversation
- Flexibility and versatility in logical, methodical and expedient approach to problem resolution
- Evident attention to detail and ability to analyze data
- Refined written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated track record of taking over accounts and improving quality, process, and relationships

Compensation Range
$23.80 - $37.16
