Job Description
Pay Range: $72,157.00 - $96,216.00
Maintains computing environment by identifying system requirements; installing upgrades; monitoring system performance. Responsible for installing, maintaining and upgrading server OS and software. Ensures appropriate data is backed up. Ensures server/application is secure from unauthorized access. Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of the systems hardware and software. Manages all activities related to the operations and maintenance of company computers and peripheral equipment. Establishes schedules and procedures for maximum utilization of the system. Analyzes operating instructions and user needs to establish operating procedures and best practices. Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and upgrades computer hardware, software, personal computer networks, printers, and peripheral equipment. Provides and implements recommendations regarding hardware and software acquisitions. Participates in company business recovery planning and objectives.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent education and experience
- 4 -6 years in Information Technology field
- Industry certifications preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of networking practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge of server hardware, peripherals, and software.
- Demostrated knowledge of Microsoft application software (ie: Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
- Understanding of network security and auditing best practices.
- Demonstrated understanding of Microsoft and Linux PC and server operating systems.
- Basic project management skills.
- Effectively manage workload adjusting priorities as necessary to resolve unexpected issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively through either verbal or written formats as well as teach applications to peers and end users.
- Understanding of virtual environments and management of.
Unique Job Characteristics and Requirements:
Valid driver's license required. May include nights and weekends.
Tasks Performed:
- 40% Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation and maintenance of the systems hardware and software.
- 15% Evaluates, recommends, and implements upgrades to system. Tracks system usage including but not limited to disk space, CPU usage and bandwidth. Provides and implements recommendations for optimization.
- 10% Configures and/or develops procedures for system backups.
- 10% Contributes to and supports regulatory initiatives including but not limited to Business Recovery planning and IT security.
- 10% Provides project management for new systems and upgrades.
- 10% Troubleshoots system related problems and works with hardware/software vendors to resolve.
- 5% Other duties as required.
