Job Description

Pay Range: $106,734.00 - $142,304.00

Responsible for managing high net worth accounts and accounts of a more complex nature within the Trust & Investment Department and assisting in business development. Insures that personnel of the Department are familiar with regulations that pertain to the department. Remains current with trends in the areas of stocks and bonds. Maintains a working knowledge of investment policies, and keeps administrators informed of changes. Reviews all accounts on an ongoing basis (and in a formal annual process) to ensure accounts are invested appropriately, and that all relevant paperwork and required changes are complete. Responsible for client communications regarding investment portfolios including presentations/meetings with individuals and various boards. Responsible for the management of up to 10 investment officers.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance or related field
  • Graduate degree and/or CFA designation desired but not required
  • Graduate of Accredited Trust School, with Accredited Fiduciary Investment Manager (AFIM) or similar designation
  • 5 Years experience in developing business and managing investment accounts

Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of economics, markets (both equity and fixed income) and investment products.
  • Thorough knowledge of trust policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of estate inheritance and income tax laws, court rules and regulations.
  • Ability to deliver new business development presentations
  • Ability to solve routine and technical problems of account administration.
  • Ability to supervise department assistants and other trust officers as to trust procedures, operations and account administration.
  • Ability to construct appropriate investment portfolios and make ongoing changes as necessary.
  • Ability to manage up to 10 investment officers

Unique Job Characteristics and Requirements:

Requires extended hours for client meetings and presentations.

Tasks Performed:

  • 30% Maintain assigned accounts. Assist less experienced investment staff in their maintenance of accounts.
  • 25% Trains, mentors, develops and oversees the Investment Officers. Conducts annual reviews.
  • 20% Source and call on prospects as well as conduct presentations to potential client groups. Meet with high net worth customers to discuss investment needs. Actively allocate clients portfolios in accordance with identified needs.
  • 10% Maintain and update knowledge in regards to Trust matters. Remain current with all regulations and monitor investments of the department to ensure that they are in compliance.
  • 10% Serves on the department's Investment Policy Committee and the Bank's Retirement Plan Committee.
  • 5% Other duties as assigned, may included Reports and Internal Meetings.

  • Stationary 75% of time or greater
  • Move Objects to Maximum 10 lbs
