Job Description

CA Pay Range (Annual):

$134,400.00 - $249,600.00

At Infinera, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. Your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for equity grants, discretionary bonuses, or commission payments. The amount of these incentives is based on the terms of the Company’s incentive plans, the Company’s financial performance, and/or individual employee job performance.

Nokia is committed to developing high capacity transport and routable subcarrier edge network solutions.  The successful candidate will work within the PIC design and engineering team and engage in simulation, data analysis and lead product development from reliable design concepts, performance verification and optimization and transfer to manufacturing. The broad job responsibilities include the hands-on work in the design of high speed integrated photonic components, implementing the designs through the fab and testing the resulting circuits to verify performance.  Experience in several of the key areas listed below is required.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

  • A strong understanding of optical components design, epitaxy, fabrication and component/system level tests.
  • Familiar with complicated photonic integrated circuit layout methodology and EAD tools
  • Strong background with semiconductor optical devices such as lasers, detectors, modulators and other integrated waveguide devices.
  • Use of optical and electronic modeling and simulation to design electro-optical devices, and lithographic mask specification, design and pattern generation.
  • Fundamental understanding of optical communication systems, DWDM transmission systems, photonic integrated components, electronic (integrated) circuits, and signal analysis and processing.
  • Ability to work with a large body of data and the necessary statistical analysis tools, and the ability to present the data and ideas to a diverse audience.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Ph.D in Electrical Engineering, Photonics or a related discipline with emphasis in optical communications and optical components or M.S./M.Eng. in Electrical Engineering or Photonics, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

The U.S. Department of Commerce currently requires a foreign person with a most recent citizenship or permanent residency of Sudan, Ukraine, or a country currently designated in Country Group D:1, E:1 or E:2 (Supplement No. 1 to Part 740, Title 15) to have an export control license to access our Export-Controlled Information, unless they meet certain exemptions provided under U.S. export control laws and regulations. The list of applicable countries in Country Group D:1, E:1 or E:2 may be updated by the U.S. government from time to time. The current processing time for an export control license is approximately 4 to 6 months.
