Job Description
Responsibilities: A Nutrition Services Aide assists the cooks and other nutrition services department personnel in areas such as
washing dishes, answering the room service phone line, delivering patient trays, food preparation, food
storage, cleaning, stocking, and operating the cash register. The Nutrition Services Aide must always follow
safe food handling practices. In addition, the employee must understand prescribed therapeutic and modified
diets.
Qualifications: The Nutrition Services Aide Must be at least 16 years of age and must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. The ability to write simple correspondences and speak in sentences is required. It is preferred that the Nutrition Services Aide is ServSafe certified. It is preferred that the Nutrition Services Aide has a High School diploma or equivalent training or up to one-year relate experience or training, or equivalent combination or education and experience and have prior experience in food service and commercial food preparation and following prescribed diets.
