Job Description
Who We Are
Verily is a subsidiary of Alphabet that is using a data-driven approach to change the way people manage their health and the way healthcare is delivered. Launched from Google X in 2015, our purpose is to bring the promise of precision health to everyone, every day. We are focused on generating and activating data from a variety of sources, including clinical, social, behavioral and the real world, to arrive at the best solutions for a person based on a comprehensive view of the evidence. Our unique expertise and capabilities in technology, data science and healthcare enable the entire healthcare ecosystem to drive better health outcomes.
Description
In this role, you will drive the UX vision and execution of new AI-powered tools to supercharge clinicians in delivering precision health to patients at scale. You will lead a small team of designers; guiding their craft, fostering strong collaboration, and elevating design excellence; while partnering closely with UX researchers and cross-functional teams — including Product Managers, Clinical Specialists, Data Scientists, Software Engineers and more. We are seeking someone with excellent design skills; a fierce advocate for the user; a compassionate mentor; and a system-level thinker, who is excited by the challenges of creating innovative and intuitive user experiences for complex workflows.
Please include both a resume and portfolio in PDF format (or website with password) when applying for this opportunity.
Responsibilities
Leading a small team of UX Designers, from product definition to detailed designs, while offering ongoing guidance on the team’s plans and deliverables.
A lead role in developing product strategy, influencing the roadmap, planning the team’s UX resources, and meeting creative and technical requirements.
Play a hands-on role contributing to strategic and executional design projects.
Represent UX in cross-functional leadership forums and strategy.
Foster a strong user-focused culture, inspired by humanity, empathy, and humility, and driven by Product Excellence principles.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
An outstanding portfolio of thoughtfully designed products, demonstrating ability to work across the end-to-end product development process, from establishing strong UX strategy and conceptual foundations to successfully delivering high quality products through refining the smallest details with clear rationale.
Bachelor's degree in UX Design, HCI, Interaction Design, or related field with 8+ years of professional UX Design experience in enterprise software, consumer products, medical devices or other relevant areas.
A systems thinker that actively participates in solving complex design challenges alongside the team.
Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and collaboration skills; ability to communicate complex concepts effectively across a broad range of audiences, and galvanize different opinions around a shared objective.
Preferred Qualifications
M.S./M.A./M.F.A. or other advanced degree in a relevant field.
Past work on elegant Enterprise products, Healthcare, Medical services, or other relevant areas.
Past experience leading or managing UX design teams
Experience designing GenAI/LLM, rich data visualizations, complex professional tools, flexible enterprise platforms, or related solutions.
