Job Description

Job Summary:

The Senior Benefits Analyst is responsible for working side by side with the Company's benefits team to administer and communicate the Company's benefit plans effectively, efficiently and within federal and state guidelines. The Senior Benefits Analyst will also assist the team with any other benefit related tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate independently to administer the companies' health and welfare benefits programs (health/dental care, disability, life insurance, spending accounts, COBRA) in compliance with plan documents and contracts.
  • Identify, research, initiate and implements opportunities for process improvement and create process flows to optimize streamlining and efficiency
  • Collaborate with Benefits Manager, IT & HRIS in leading annual Open Enrollment process. and year end activities
  • Manage benefit issues and appeal process for benefits issues in a timely and efficient manner to ensure fairness and compliance.
  • Prepare communication materials as needed, including periodic benefits updates and benefit presentations for HR and supervisors.
  • Perform various benefits audit as needed
  • Maintains and develop relationships with third party administrators, insurers, and other vendors and review/reconcile vendor discrepancy reports and conduct benefit audits as required
  • Collaborates with HRIS to lead ACA configuration and setup in Workday annually, performs data validation to ensure ACA 1094 and 1095-C IRS filings are correct and in compliance, performs on-going ACA maintenance in Workday to ensure the company remains compliant with offering 95% coverage
  • Ensure and maintain the company's compliance with state and federal laws
  • Support other benefit department initiatives and programs as needed
  • Maintain Benefit's external web site and intranet site with most up to date benefits information, documents and materials
  • Perform other related essential duties as assigned or requested

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations which is by health and retirement benefit
  • In-depth understanding of state and local laws governing leave such as ERISA, HIPPA, COBRA, and FMLA to ensure compliance
  • Excellent analytical skills to research and evaluate benefits programs to make informed choices
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and personal information of colleagues
  • Ability to cultivate trusting, professional, and respectful relationships
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information
  • Proficient with MS Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to address multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with consistent follow through

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or Business Administration
  • 5-7 years of proven work experience in benefits processes
  • 1-2 years of proven work experience in Workday benefits module
