Job Description

Location: Stuart, Florida

The Assistant Store Manager partners with the Store Manager to coach the store team to provide care and expertise and create memorable moments for every Devoted Pet Lover. The position shares the responsibility for ensuring consistently great execution to allow us to invest in meaningful time with our customers and provide the best products and services that create the healthiest, most playful life for their pets. They take actions to drive profit that fuels our growth and future success as the best choice for people who are devoted to their pets.  They look for moments of fun in every day and celebrate them and they live by and coach to our Core Beliefs

Essential Details and Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of sales, service, and customer experience initiatives in store.
  • Assist in driving results to achieve Sales, KPIs and Store Performance goals.
  • Partner with the Store Manager to plan and execute community events and develop mutually beneficial business relationships with various rescue agencies.
  • Partner with the Store Manager to coordinate the recruitment and hiring of Animal Care Experts (ACEs).
  • Support the day-to-day assignment of tasks while training and developing ACEs for future success within Pet Retail Brands.
  • Assist the Store Manager with order placements, maintaining appropriate inventory, floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, housekeeping and miscellaneous paperwork.
  • Support the completion of the store’s Health & Safety audits.
  • Protect employees and customers by maintaining a safe and clean store environment.
  • May be required to maintain cleanliness and well-being of all livestock including animal care and feeding.

Experience, Education, Certifications:

  • At least 3+ years in retail environment
  • Working knowledge of POS system
  • Demonstrated interpersonal & sales skills
