Job Description
Heritage Halls Lead Custodian (TEMPORARY)
As a Summer Custodial Team Lead at Heritage Halls, you will help maintain cleanliness and order in campus housing by working alongside and leading a team of student employees. Responsibilities include cleaning assigned areas, supporting full-time managers with building projects, overseeing summer housing tasks, and ensuring all locations meet cleanliness standards. This role requires prior custodial experience at Heritage Halls (by invitation only), a strong commitment to BYU’s mission, teamwork, reliability, and the ability to work independently with cleaning chemicals. Previous custodial experience is preferred.
What you’ll do in this position:
- Clean various portions of Heritage Halls with a team of workers
- Assist full-time managers with building projects and tasks
- Lead a team of students in various summer housing tasks
- Inspect assigned locations to ensure they are meeting cleanliness standards
What qualifies you for this role:
Required
- Worked for Heritage Custodial previously – by invitation only
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
- Positive attitude and willingness to work and be part of a team.
- Must have regular and consistent attendance at scheduled shift.
- Able to work with potentially hazardous chemicals independently.
- Ability to work independently and in a small team.
Preferred
- Previous custodial work experience

Pay Grade: 45
Typical Starting Pay: Depending on Experience
