Job Purpose/Summary
The Security Officer is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for Sacred Path staff and community members. This includes monitoring entrances and exits, patrolling the premises, responding to emergencies, and assisting with enforcing policies and procedures in a respectful and community-oriented manner. They may need to investigate suspicious activity, eject unauthorized individuals from the premises, report perpetrators and communicate with law enforcement. Some customer service assistance (e.g., greeting community members, directing people to the appropriate staff members, ensuring packages are secured) may be required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- In charge of employee and community members’ safety
- Patrols grounds, building, and other areas of responsibility
- Monitors security surveillance footage and keeps an eye on visitors
- Enforces company security policies and legal protocols
- Responds to distress calls within the premises
- Reports adverse situations to the appropriate authorities when necessary
- Maintains a daily log of irregular occurrences such as property damage, the entrance of unauthorized persons, and other unusual occurrence
Experience & Qualifications
- Good knowledge of safety and security protocols
- Attentive, observant, and alert
- Able to take leadership role in emergency situations
- Enforce safety rules and protocols
- Professionalism and respectful
- First Aid certified (We provide the training and certification if hired)
- Shows respect and sensitivity for cultural differences
Education
High School Diploma
License/Certifications
Security Guard Registration (“Guard Card”)
Compensation: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Sacred Path Indigenous Wellness Center was developed to contribute to the wellness of American Indian/Alaska Native communities by engaging key strategies to provide much needed culturally-relevant, integrated, trauma responsive health and behavioral health services, conduct community-based participatory research, and provide technical assistance, training and consultative services to other tribal and urban Native organizations.
