Job Description

This position is responsible for repairing, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment such as forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks, tuggers, pallet jacks, and scissor lifts. Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment, meters, and calibration devices. Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects. Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles. Dismantle and reassemble equipment using hoists and hand tools. Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency. Repair and replace damaged or worn parts, repair, rewire, and troubleshoot electrical systems. Read and understand operating manuals, troubleshooting guides, and wiring schematics. Examine parts for damage or excessive wear. Weld or solder broken parts and structural members, using electric or gas welders and soldering tools. Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications. Research, order, and maintain equipment parts inventory for services and repairs. Schedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment and keep equipment service records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the RTG fleet of powered equipment
  • Maintain an inventory of parts per equipment type
  • Work with equipment vendors
  • Collect and record data needed to analyze equipment
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs
  • Performs other duties as required.

Essential Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively present and communicate with all levels within the organization, with agencies and vendors
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities, meet demanding deadlines and adjust to sudden changes in workflow
  • Ability to act independently and take initiative to solve problems, implement solutions, and create new processes
  • Time management, communication, and customer service skills
