Job Description
Job Title: ASL/Sign Language Interpreter
Job Description: Provides interpreting services in a variety of settings in the community for individuals in need of signed interpreting.
Job Relationships: Responsible to: Erie Office ASL Interpreting Coordinator
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Interpreting or a high school diploma with coursework and/or workshops in interpreting and deafness
- Fluency in American Sign Language
- RID/NAD certification desired
- In-depth knowledge and adherence to the RID Code of Professional Conduct
- Some experience interpreting in a variety of settings using various communication modes
- Current Act 33 and 34/151 clearances are required
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provide the highest quality interpretation services for Deaf consumers
- Will effectively interpret between ASL and spoken English
- Must have the ability to work in a variety of settings throughout the community
- Must have reliable transportation
- Varying schedule that you control
- Using USked system to accept jobs and manage your hours
