Job Description

Safety Worxs is seeking two Safety Coordinators in the San Antonio are to support a  3-6 month project.

The Safety Coordinator will coordinate with Client Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) group to support site-wide compliance with OSHA, State and Client EHS Organizational requirements while fostering a safety conscious work force through direct and positive interactions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as site resource for Client EHS information on procedures, guidelines, and standards.
  • Engage and Coach field personnel on EHS related tasks and activities.
  • Assists in achieving Client specific EHS performance goals.
  • Performs EHS monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting as required by Client.
  • Assist as needed with investigations of incidents.
  • Perform walk throughs; prepares reports with recommendations for corrective actions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with Client organization objectives.
  • Understanding application of technical EHS principles, theories, concepts in the field.
  •  Assist with EHS documentation that may arise in the field as a pre-job requirement.
  • Evaluate practices, procedures to assess risk and adherence to organizational requirements.
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities and prevention measures.
  • Acts as site resource for Client EHS training initiatives and objectives.
  • Assist with emergency and security planning; prepare, schedule emergency drills and exercises

Qualifications:

  • 5 yrs. experience in Safety 
  • Local to San Antonio, TX (no per diem)

Preferred:

  • CHST
  • CSHO
  • OSHA 500
  • Railroad experience
  • Spanish/English bilingual
