OVERVIEW:

The Manager of In Store Communications will provide teammate and project leadership to Project Managers of key categories. In this role, the Manager will manage 2-4 Project Managers and own the end-to-end project management (including planning, executing, and monitoring results) for category specific deliverables. The role is critical to ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and deliver an impact to the athlete's experience. The Manager partners closely with internal teammates across Visual Merchandising, Buying, Planning, Store/Field Operations, and Marketing to coordinate and align resources. As opportunities or roadblocks surface, the Manager owns the communication and escalation of project impacts to the Sr. Manager of In Store Communications. In addition, the Manager will work closely with the Sr. Manager of In Store Communications to drive process improvement, budget preparation, and change management to ensure project goals are met.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and business partners to define objectives, scope, and project execution time and action in support of key projects across multiple categories.
  • Define and set expectations to drive and facilitate project meetings. Ensure objectives are met and actions are clearly outlined.
  • Actively drive accountability between all key cross-functional teams and external vendors involved by gathering status updates, completion progress and misses to deadlines or budget.
  • Identify barriers and obstacles that will impact timely execution of projects. Ideate options to problem solve in partnership with stakeholders until alignment is gained. Set action plan and drive execution to overcome.
  • Present project updates, project cycle and expected results to key stakeholders, including Sr. Manager and other leadership across the division and cross-functional partners.

Process Improvement and Operational Excellence

  • Work closely with the Sr Manager of In-Store Communications to review and access the Project Management team processes and help identify opportunities to drive efficiencies and operational excellence. This includes generating new techniques, solutions or technology needs that can improve delivery quality, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with the Sr Manager to create consistent departmental standards and best practices to ensure all project and release deadlines are met with efficiencies. Hold teammates accountable for deadline adherence, inefficiencies, and accurate execution.
  • Provide recommendations and action steps to remove roadblocks, gaps or duplicative efforts that hinder speed to market within budget for categories in reach they are responsible.

Cross-Functional Partnerships

  • Act as a subject matter expert, ensuring teammates are building action plans in accordance with the operational standards of the In Store Communication department.
  • Determine actionable opportunities to assign ownership across project teams, including providing accountability measures to ensure success of each project deliverable.

Teammate Management & Talent Development

  • Manage execution responsibilities and workload of direct reports to achieve department deliverables on-time and with quality.
  • Provide direct reports with timely and regular feedback to support associate development/ growth in role.
  • Drive talent selection process for open direct report positions; Ensure all direct reports are appropriately trained and on-boarded.
