Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides direct patient addiction treatment and care according to professional guidelines and best practices.
- Maintains collaborative agreements with the psychiatric nurse practitioners.
- Participates in the development of clinical systems that assures the provision of care for all clients in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Participates in developing plans of care for clients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Maintains liaison with other departments/disciplines relating to the provision of psychiatric care.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Physician licensed and currently registered as such by the New York State Education Department
- Hold a Federal DATA 2000 waiver (buprenorphine-certified), within six months of employment
- The medical director should hold either:
- a subspecialty board certification in addiction psychiatry from the American Board of Medical Specialties; or
- an addiction certification from the American Society of Addiction Medicine; or
- a certification by the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM); or
- a subspecialty board certification in Addiction Medicine from the American Osteopathic Association?
