Conning is a leading global investment management firm with a long history of serving the insurance industry.
We develop customized investment strategies that address our clients' unique objectives, requirements and tolerance for risk. We develop solutions by leveraging Conning's risk management tools and utilizing a highly disciplined investment process that relies on fundamental analysis.
Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced professional to join our Professional Services team. As Vice President, Professional Services, you will be responsible for client service and retention, business development, and generating services revenue. In this role, you will establish partnerships that lead to software sales, contribute to software development, and manage team projects or activities.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to earning targeted advisory revenue by working with Sales Executives to obtain advisory revenue assignments and successfully complete required deliverables in a timely manner.
- Delegate appropriate projects to Analysts; review their work for accuracy and completeness; provide training and feedback.
- Client Service and retention - for existing ADVISE and GEMS clients.
- Produce professional services revenue.
- Establish partnerships to produce sales.
- Sales- Collaborate with Sales to assess market needs, maintain competitive information, develop appropriate demos and pitch materials, and assess the viability of select partnerships.
- Product training- Collaborate with team members to develop training programs for end users.
- Contribute to software development.
- Assist with Client retention.
- Assist with Revenue generation.
As may be evident from the descriptions above, this role is highly matrixed with other areas of the Risk Solutions business. Team members involved in planning, developing and delivering our products in the market will continue to play critical roles alongside this position. The Vice President, Professional Services will participate in selected sales prospect opportunities.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant insurance or asset management experience, or
- A minimum of 5 years of consulting experience, or work in a project-oriented client service role.
- Proven leadership skills and expert knowledge of systems and processes.
- Actuarial software expertise and the ability to learn new software.
- Thorough knowledge of insurance and enterprise risk management.
- Actuarial designation (FSA/FCAS or experienced ASA/ACAS) preferred.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, or progress towards a designation is a plus.
- Experience with Asset/Liability Management.
- Insurance and financial acumen including understanding of insurance finances.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for a client facing position; Excellent presentation skills
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects.
