Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Pioneering Evolution is seeking an experienced UI/UX Designer to support the development of a secure federal software platform. This position requires a strong understanding of user-centered design principles, accessibility standards, and mission-driven interfaces in a government environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with the UI/UX Lead, Business Analyst, and development teams to craft intuitive and compliant user experiences that promote audit readiness and enhance data traceability. Other key responsibilities include:

Develop wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes to communicate and visualize design concepts.

Incorporate feedback from users and stakeholders to continuously refine designs and optimize usability.

Ensure accessibility compliance by adhering to Section 508 and WCAG standards across all design artifacts.

Collaborate with frontend developers to guide the implementation of accurate and consistent user interfaces.

Advocate for user-centered design principles throughout the entire development lifecycle.

Participate in user testing efforts and synthesize findings into actionable design improvements.

Support mission-critical interfaces that prioritize task efficiency, traceability, and user satisfaction.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in UI/UX design, including wireframing, prototyping, and iterative user testing.

Proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.

Deep understanding of accessibility requirements and design best practices.

Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.

Must be available to work full-time and on-site in the Washington D.C. metro area.

U.S. Citizenship and active Secret Clearance are required.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

Experience designing secure software platforms for federal government agencies.

Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and collaborative team environments.

Understanding of frontend development and component-based UI frameworks (e.g., Angular).
