Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our Medical and Scientific Affairs group as Head of US, MSL. The Head of US, MSL is responsible for leading and managing the team of MSLs across the US and will oversee multiple therapeutic areas. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to maximize the team's effectiveness in engaging key opinion leaders (KOLs) and other healthcare professionals, fostering relationships and supporting the company's scientific and medical objectives. This position reports into the SVP, Head of Global Medical Affairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing MSL strategy and oversight of MSL territory plans and KOL mapping initiatives.
- Ensuring and maintaining high level of scientific knowledge for self/team
- Develop field-based tactical plan, across multiple therapeutic areas, in alignment with medical strategy and overall company objectives.
- Lead, manage and provide strategic direction to the US MSL team, while fostering a culture of trust, transparency, empowerment, cross functional collaboration and mutual accountability.
- Ensure MSLs have the necessary training and resources for effective scientific engagement of KOLs and dissemination of data in response to unsolicited requests.
- Develop comprehensive strategies for the MSL team to maximize their effectiveness in engagement of healthcare professional and fostering of relationships.
- Develop metrics to evaluate MSL performance, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate regular reports to assess the team's impact and success in supporting medical objectives.
- Ensure all team activities within the designated region adhere to regulatory requirements, company policies and industry guidelines.
- Deliver internal educational training sessions for internal stakeholders, including disease state, therapeutic landscape, and product information to stay updated on scientific advancements and industry trends.
- Collaborate with scientific communications to establish a platform for collection and dissemination of actionable medical insights.
- Collaborate cross functionally to develop and implement a platform for Investigator-Sponsored Trials (ISTs) and develop a framework with which the MSL team can support investigators who wish to submit ISTs.Lead, contribute to, attend, and provide scientific support at international, national, regional, and local medical conferences.
- Ensure the appropriate dissemination of transparent, fair-balanced scientific and clinical information, knowledge, and services in a timely, compliant, ethical and customer-focused manner.
- Demonstrate proficiency in delivering educational resources and clinical information in response to an established need/request.
- Engage in timely and fair-balanced scientific exchanges with HCPs in response to unsolicited requests for information related to Zenas' products.
- Facilitate scientific exchange, foster advocacy and support educational initiatives.Liaise with Clinical Operations to support company-sponsored studies.
Qualifications:
- Advanced clinical/science degree or health care professional credentials required (MD, PhD, RPh, PharmD, NP, PA, MS or equivalent)
- Minimum 5-7 years MSL experience required
- 3-5 years of MSL Management experience required
- Therapeutic area experience preferred
- Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, and Officer of Inspector General (OIG) guidelines preferred
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, including building strong working relationships and managing and resolving conflict
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation)

- Current knowledge & full understanding of all relevant industry, legal, and regulatory compliance guidelines
- Commitment to the highest ethical, legal, regulatory, and scientific standard
Zenas is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary pay range for this role is $222,400 to $278,000. Actual compensation packages will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to depth of experience, education, skillset, overall performance and/or location.
Zenas believes in providing a competitive compensation and benefits package to all employees. Our base salary is just one component of Zenas' competitive total rewards strategy that also includes annual performance bonus, equity, full range of benefits and other incentive compensation plans.
