OVERVIEW:

The Bike, Snow, & Paddle Lead will bring their passion and experience to life by utilizing their

expertise to educate and advocate for our explorers in store experience. The lead will be expected toprovide thoughtful product recommendations that fit the skill/experience level of each explorer thatvisits Public Lands. As the Bike, Snow, & Paddle Lead, they are responsible for directing workflow andoverseeing the daily operations within the Snow and Bike department under the direction of theAssistant Store Manager. In addition, through elevated customer service the lead will buildmeaningful relationships with explorers within the bike, snow, and paddle communities. Additionalresponsibilities will also include driving results, ensuring Company standards, and assisting withstorewide operations as needed.

  • Responsible for driving the highest level of customer service within our Bike, Snowsport andPaddle department while engaging in behaviors that are in-line with company's service andselling standards.

  • Bring to life the power of opinion. Making sure the explorer experience includes productexperts who provide consultative advice while demonstrating excellent product knowledge.

  • Uphold Public Lands standards for merchandise presentation, showcasing the best appareland equipment brands in sporting goods by following established floor sets, signingrequirements, price changes, replenishment and recovery processes, in-stock, etc.

  • Guide and educate explorers through their purchase by communicating information on useand maintenance of their Bike, Snowsport and/or Paddle equipment and accessories.

  • Ability to properly qualify bike functions and proper sizing (service & selling) to the explorersneeds.

  • Experience as a bike fitter from a nationally recognized program is preferred.

  • Assist the store management team with general supervision in the store in accordance withCompany policies and procedures, including opening and closing the store, performing FrontEnd and Cash Office functions.

  • Assist manager with department scheduling, directing workflow, daily guide assignments, andmonitoring project status.

  • Communicate information to department guides regarding Company initiatives, programs,promotions, etc.

  • Maintaining Company loss prevention standards and controls.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

  • Assist with training associates on Company procedures and programs; this includes newassociate training and cross training current associates.

  • Train and mentor new hires by sharing experience, knowledge, and best practices.

  • Sharetimely feedback on projects, tasks, and deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Flexible availability - including nights, weekend, and holidays.

  • Prior experience of Building, repairing, and selling bicycles preferred.

  • Prior ski/paddle sales and service experience in a fast-paced shop is preferred.

  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift 15 to 35 lbs. items occasionally (up to 5 times per hour).

  • Ability to work extended periods of time (up to 4 hours) standing or walking.

Targeted Pay Range: $17.50 - $25.50. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, location, experience and position offered. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.DICK'S Sporting Goods complies with all state paid leave requirements.
