Job Summary
The HVAC Specialist manages and maintains all SHI HVAC systems and BMS (Building Management System) in NJ and PA. They provide support to SHI employees, as required, and ensure SHI's operations remain online at all times. They work directly with vendors and partners to manage maintenance and repairs. The HVAC Specialist needs to be available to respond to emergencies 24/7/365.
This position reports to the Facilities Manager and is performed at SHI's NJ/PA office locations.
Role Description
Inspect, diagnose, and maintain HVAC systems
Coordinate scheduled preventative maintenance for Mechanical Systems, Chillers, Cooling towers, CRAC Units
Monitor multiple BMS systems regularly for error codes
Respond to climate control issues
Review vendor invoices for consistency & accuracy
Monitor and respond to HVAC service requests from employees
Proactively identify and repair any potential problems
Ensure all HVAC systems rooms are clean and organized
Work with vendors to schedule and oversee maintenance and repairs
Maintain chiller log and perform daily inspections
Complete and close out work orders in various management systems
Maintain competency of building management controls (BMS)
Respond to fire alarms systems
Assist Facilities with other duties, as required by management
Independently acquire additional skills to maintain technical competencies
Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager, Lead Facilities Technicians, and Lead HVAC Technician

Skill Level Requirements
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately and efficiently- Basic
Experience using Building Management Software (BMS) for HVAC and lighting systems- Basic
Ability to research and select vendors based on reputation, cost, and turnaround time- Basic
The ability to effectively utilize applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to enhance productivity and perform various tasks efficiently- Basic
Fundamental understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems- Basic
Basic knowledge of office building systems, including Life Safety, HVAC, Security, Electrical, Plumbing, and Generators- Basic
Other Requirements
Completed High School Diploma required
Experience in a corporate facilities environment preferred
Must have a valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle
Ability to work flexible hours
Ability to move or lift up to 50 lbs
2 years working with building management controls (BMS)
Must have a valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle
2 years vendor management and coordination
2 years of commercial HVAC experience preferred
EPA 608 Certification: Universal
Liquid cooling experience preferred but not required
Data Center experience preferred but not required
The base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $75,000. The estimated on-target earnings, or OTE, which includes a base salary, are $55,000 - $75,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
