Job Description
Under general supervision, and according to established policies and procedures, the Pharmacotherapy Specialist Coordinator is responsible for coordinating clinical and operational services provided by assigned pharmacy staff in assigned specialty work area in a cost-effective manner, incorporating practice standards into daily operations, and continuously improving services to meet the needs of areas covered. Other responsibilities include providing leadership by interviewing potential staff, scheduling, and completing staff performance evaluations, medication use management, staff education, and competency assessment. The Pharmacotherapy Specialist Coordinator is also required to provide specialized clinical pharmacy services to patients, nurses and medical staff. Collaborates with other health care professionals in the research, development and implementation of critical pathways and policies that have a medication use component. Practice involves the components of expert practitioner, educator, consultant, researcher, and clinical leader. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Education
Degree Major And/Or
Doctorate Degree Pharmacy
License/Registration
License/Registration - Issued by Florida or Compact State And/Or
Pharmacist
Certification
Certification And/Or
Work Experience and Additional Information
Four (4) years of experience in a clinical setting.
