The client is a well-respected CA Board of Accountancy licensed accountancy firm located in Irvine, CA. With

Job Introduction

We are in need of an experienced Tax Manager to join the leadership team of a thriving CPA Firm. The

mission of the Tax Manager is to oversee the tax preparation services provided by the firm. These

services primarily include income tax services. A high degree of technical skill in tax preparation is

required, including experience with preparing multistate income tax returns. This individual will be

responsible for leading, managing, and providing accountability for a team of tax professionals. A

successful Tax Manager will require a blend of interpersonal skills, operational oversight, and strategic

thinking.

Qualifications and Preferences

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in tax, accounting, or business-related field.
  • Master's degree in tax or accounting a plus.
  • CPA license or Enrolled Agent license required.

Professional

  • 5+ years of tax & accounting experience required.
  • Prior experience managing team members required.
  • Minimum 2 years supervising and training experience
  • Strong experience with multi-state returns
  • Experience with QuickBooks and tax software (CCH) preferred.
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to lead and enforce standard operating procedures and work-paper templates.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Team oriented.
  • Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of tax laws and accounting rules and principles.
