Job Description

Astera Health is looking for a part-time Phlebotomist with their Limited Radiology Operator Certification to join our team. 
 

This position is scheduled for 48 hours per bi-weekly pay period, with rotating weekdays from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and no holidays or weekends required. Responsibilities required, but not limited to:

    1. Participates in routine laboratory work using personal protective equipment and abides by established safety/hazardous/infection control policies set forth—reports incidents as necessary.
    2. Performs phlebotomy, DOT urine drug collections, breath alcohol testing (BAT), x-rays, and ECG/EKG’s.
    3. Assist in the preparation of samples for analysis utilizing centrifuge and aliquoting.
    4. Perform clinical laboratory waived testing at all satellite labs.
    5. Assists in development and maintenance of policies and procedures.
    6. Ensures adherence to established safety and infection control policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE, to protect the health and safety of patients, families, and staff. This includes patient safety, fire, disaster, and isolation protocols.
    7. Assists in the investigation and follow-up of complaints or concerns, from patients, families, or providers, addressing errors or issues as needed.
    8. Assists in reporting performance improvement activities within the department and interdepartmentally. 
          Education and Experience Required:
          • High school diploma or equivalency
          • State of MN X-Ray equipment operator exam with certification
          • Or; an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and duties of the job as listed above.
