ABOUT US:

Cervélo exists to Make Riders Faster. You'll see our bikes on the road, on the trail, and under some of the most elite athletes in the world. We're a small group of passionate riders, dedicated to delivering the best bikes in the world. It's not all CAD and wind tunnel time, though, we're headquartered in Aliso Viejo, California, a sweet corner of Orange County where you can ride on and off road year-round. Cervélo bikes have won all three Grand Tours (the first bike in history to do so), our ambitions have never been higher, and we're looking for talented, driven people to join our team.

ABOUT YOU:

The Associate Product Manager’s role is to support the Director of Product Management in ensuring the successful execution of the product plan and strategy.  In this role, you will work cross-functionally with the engineering team to develop and maintain specs and data and communicate to all stakeholders.  You will be the liaison with the Sales, Marketing and Supply-chain teams by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of Cervélo’s master product data.  The Associate Product Manager works collaboratively with various departmental stakeholders to deliver innovative products as well as continuously collect and report on competitive market intelligence.

This position will require you to be on-site at Cervelo’s Headquarters in Aliso Viejo, CA

WHAT DOES YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?

Product Specifications

  • Study and learn all aspects of Cervélo bikes, their specs, attributes and technical requirements

  • Generate and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs) with a high degree of accuracy

  • Identify compatibilities between Cervélo bicycles and third-party parts

  • Communicate product specs and provide technical support to Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing and Customer Experience

  • Maintain data, system integrity and further enrich the content of the product database

  • Load and maintain product data in Cervélo’s ERP system

  • Technical support assistance for Product Development as needed

  • Proofread marketing materials, sales sell sheets, etc., for specifications of each model

Product Development, Purchasing & Inventory Management

  • Create, submit and maintain Purchase Orders (PO) to suppliers for Product Development inventory

  • Advise suppliers on shipping logistics and track shipments

  • Receive and check out parts in the inventory management system

  • Manage PD inventory tracking and organization

  • Track stock levels and recommend replenishment

Competitive Data Analysis

  • Support the Director of Product Management with ongoing competitor analysis; collect data, review specs, pricing and analysis of competitor products

  • Support the Director of Product Management with ongoing data collection of sell-through market data via a third-party database and interface

New Product Development Support

  • Interact daily with cross-functional partners, Engineering, Customer Experience and Supply Chain

  • Support the development of sales material and technical information to support the sales team and retailers

  • Liaise with Engineering, Marketing and Sales on product positioning and highlight dedicated features and benefits of the bikes

  • Review new product requirements with suppliers to begin the negotiation process for production

  • Work collaboratively with marketing and engineering to support new product launches

  • Support the development of product owner manuals and technical resources

  • Manage first builds for all new products, assessing fitment and complexity


WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience - bike industry preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related, or equivalent through experience

  • Expert-level technical bicycle knowledge

  • Product Management, bicycle manufacturing and bicycle assembly experience

  • Personal experience and passion for cycling

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and influence cross-functional teams

  • Highly structured and organized

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite and SAP

  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions

  • High level of proficiency in bicycle mechanical work

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend and explain documents in English. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English.

SALARY PAY RANGE: This compensation package will be dependent on experience, qualifications, industry experience and the interview with a potential range of up to $60,000 - $70,000.
