Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Engineering Drafter to join our team supporting N3B! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico. This role is anticipated to be short-term (~4 months) with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
Perform site checks.
Perform drawing checks.
Develop and update engineering drawings and/or 3D models in support of N3B Operations.
Manage drawing documents in a manner that ensures proper revision control.
Perform work in accordance with the Conduct of Engineering (CoE) and applicable Federal, State, and applicable codes and standards.
Requirements
Education & Years of Experience – Associate's Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience; additional, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree]
Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work
Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed
Experience with both 2D and 3D computer aided design software programs such as AutoCAD and AutoCAD Inventor is required.
Proficient in MS Office to include MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with Autodesk design platforms, preferably Civil3D.
Understanding of modeling and drawing drafting principals, application of standards, symbols, notes, GD&T on drawings and models to capture design intent.
Understanding of engineering, design, and drafting concepts related to a mechanical, electrical, civil, etc. disciplines.
Knowledge of ASME, ANSI, AWS and related industry standards for addressing fit, form and function.
About the Site
N3B manages the Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract for the U.S. Department of Energy Environmental Management’s Los Alamos Field Office, which is responsible for cleaning up contamination that resulted from LANL operations before 1999 and packaging and shipping radioactive and hazardous waste off-site for permanent disposal (n3b-la.com).
