Description

The Athletic Training Student Assistant will support the Keuka College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting with daily operations of the athletic training room and providing basic care to student-athletes under the direct supervision of the Head and Assistant Athletic Trainers. This position is ideal for students pursuing healthcare, coaching, or related fields, providing valuable hands-on experience that complements classroom learning.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the athletic training room.
  • Perform clerical duties including filing, data entry, and preparation of medical records and reports.
  • Assist with treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries as directed by supervising athletic trainers.
  • Support practice and game coverage, including preparation and sideline duties.
  • Ensure tasks are completed in compliance with institutional, FERPA, and NCAA regulations.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a customer-focused attitude in all interactions.
  • Attend necessary trainings and meetings to remain informed and effective in the role.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of medical and student information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head or Assistant Athletic Trainer.

Physical & Scheduling Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
  • Occasional travel with athletic teams.
  • Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

  • Enrolled in Keuka College's traditional undergraduate on-campus program.
  • Eligible for Federal Work-Study or Keuka Work-Study award.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • High level of professionalism, dependability, and personal responsibility.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and in varying weather conditions.

Preferred:

  • Students majoring in Occupational Therapy, Education, Biology, Clinical Science, or related health professions.
  • Interest in coaching, sports medicine, or healthcare fields.

Salary Description

$15.50 per hour
